About the Course
The Course:
The 14th Annual Cycle To Serve Bicycle Challenge will cover much of the same roads as last year. However, this year we have partnered with the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office, Boone Police Department, and Rhoddie Bicycle Outfitters to bring you new 24/50 mile courses starting at Happy Valley Elementary School. This is a very rural route, but unlike some, the roads are lightly trafficked and the pavement is smooth.
There is no better way to test your legs early in the season than by riding underneath the mountains of Boone and Blowing Rock. There are several steep climbs, but none longer than 10-15 minutes, and all followed by fun, safe descents.
The routes travel in and out of the valleys to the north and east of Lenoir, beginning and ending in the Happy Valley Coummunity. Afterwards, refresh yourself as you watch other riders finish on Yadkin Valley Road at our big, free covered dish lunch provided by Lenoir Rotarians, Caldwell County Sheriff's Office and the Boone Police Department.
So take your choice - a 50 mile route, or a 24 mile route. All the rides start at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 9, 2020.
Ride Elevation:
- 50 mile route has just over 3,000 feet of climbing
- 24 mile route has just over 1,400 feet of climbing
